Google first talked about this feature at I/O 2021 and now it has made it available to users. Of course, currently only iOS users can use the ability to delete the history of the last 15 minutes, and later this year this feature will be available to Android users as well. This new option in iOS is as follows.
In the desktop version of Google Chrome, limited options have been added to automatically delete the search history, and users can use the automatic setting of 3, 18 or 36 months to delete the search history (this feature is set to 18 months by default), which users can Change this time.
Usually, most of the people who use Google for their searches do not have enough information about the search history. Since some users may share their phone with a family member or friend, Google has added another new layer of protection to keep users’ search history private.
Now, according to this new change, which is shown in the image above, viewing the search history in the Google mobile application requires the approval of the phone owner. This verification can be password, fingerprint or two-step authentication. This feature is now available to all users.
By presenting its new features, Google intends to remind users that it designed its search process with respect for their privacy and made it safe by default.
